WW2 Enfield SMLE .303 Rifle Brass/Copper Weight Double Pullthrough
Original
These are original .303" Double Pullthrough's Mk1.
Double pullthroughs could be found in Armourers tool kits, and also in many .303" Machine Gun tool sets, including Enfield, Bren, Vickers and Hotchkiss. The double pullthrough was used with wire gauze to scrub the bore of barrels to remove heavy fouling or rust. They could also be used by Armourers to 'lap' or polish plain steel barrels by using either wire gauze or oiled flannelette sprinkled with emery flour!
These pullthroughs are in unissued condition. They are complete with brass weights.
The Lee Enfield rifle had a trapdoor on the end of the buttstock for the rope pull through - as well as a Bakelite or brass oil bottle.
