American WWII Brass Airborne Paratrooper Signal Cricket Clicker

This is the Reproduction of the cricket which was used by the Americans on the nights of the 5th and 6th D-Day June, 1944 in the American Airborne landing zones by the 101st Airborne Division and 82nd Airborne Division
It was originally known as the 'No.470 clicker' by manufacturers J Hudson and Co Ltd from Birmingham in England, but was soon called the "cricket" by airborne paratroopers.
High quality reproduction of the American cricket or Clicker, used during the invasion of Normandy.
The “click-clack” of the cricket helped the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division communicate with each other without alerting the German troops. Used for communication to distinguish friend from foe. When approaching an unknown person, one click would be made using the tool and friendly troops would respond with two clicks.
These are great pieces to add to your Airborne kit, accurate reproductions of the "one click answered with two" crickets as seen in the movie "The Longest Day" and "Band of Brothers".
