WW2 BRITISH ARMY P37 WEBBING BRACES CROSS STRAPS PAIR BLANCO GREEN
WW2 BRITISH P1937 BLANCOED GREEN CROSS STRAP BRACES
British Army Pattern 37 webbing braces or also called cross straps. This is a set of 2 British Commonwealth braces that have been blancoed green.
Blanco was a compound used primarily by soldiers throughout the Commonwealth from 1880 onwards to clean and colour their equipment.
By the middle of the war all soldiers would have blancoed their khaki webbing to colour KG3 (Khaki green N03) This was so the webbing could blend in with the natural camouflage of the trees and vegetation of Europe. The soldiers continued to Blanco their webbing when battling north in operation Market Garden at Arhnem and the crossing of the Rhine in Operation Varsity.
Blanco became widely used throughout both world wars.
This webbing has many different shades of green.
